It’s been awfully quiet in our camp lately, but we’ve been working away behind the scenes on a brand new album, while Hope’s been growing a baby. Both that baby and that music are just about ready, and we need your help to get this thing off the ground. (The album, folks. The album!)

Hi guys!

We’ve been pretty quiet for the last few weeks, mostly because we’ve been busy with some non-band things that absolutely none of you would be interested in. But I wanted to stop in and give you an update about what we have coming up in the next few weeks and months.

Although it may look like there isn’t anything going on, Hope and I (and that crazy Copse) have been working on new songs (and blueberry oatmeal recipes) with the conviction of a couple of Irish monks over the last few months, and I am really itching to share them all with you. We’ve had some really great/fun opportunities to play for our dinner at some really great charity events, and we’re looking forward to playing some private events for some of our very dear friends.

But I know none of that really matters to you, so when the hell are we going to record an album? Well, I’m glad you ask. We are hoping to start recording a full studio album at the end of year.

Why is it taking so long? Another brilliant question from such a brilliant reader. The majority of you probably don’t realize that Tim is an Americorps member. Americorps is essentially the stateside version of the Peace Corps, but a million times less difficult. Even still, it’s a pretty serious time consumer, and it pays about as well as a metropolitan livery stable does. So we’re happily running the race as the turtle, and quietly anticipating the finish line.

In the meantime, we do have a few events coming up (and some other things that are still in the works). Hopefully we’ll see some of your smiling faces, and hopefully you’ll come bearing fresh avocados.

Admittedly, I wasn’t the happiest of campers on this shoot. It was freezing cold, up a remote canyon, outside of an old mining town in Ophir, Utah. I lost feeling in my fingers and toes. I ruined my dress and my shoes fighting rocks and brambles, but dang, I am so happy with how well it turned out!

We’re gearing up to open for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit in a couple weeks, and we are pumped!

I hope y’all had a happy Christmas and/or Hanukah. I’m turning 30 tomorrow, so our celebrations will continue into the new year. Wishing you all love in it’s most sincere form.
